Let's be real: the idea of using AI photos on your dating profile sounds extremely cringeworthy at first. But that's mostly a reflection of the quality of AI. Most AI photos of the past are obvious slop, and using them on your profile would be an obvious and huge mistake.

But the times are changing. AI photos are becoming more and more capable of realism that is indistinguishable from reality.

There are a few services out there advertising photos of this quality, and luckily for you, we went ahead and tested every popular option head-to-head in order to see which one can produce the most suitable dating profile pictures.

Without further introduction, here’s our list of the best dating profile pictures using AI:

🏆 Top Choice: DatingShoot ($89 one time)

The only service purely dedicated to dating profile pictures, with a level of quality and style of photo to match expectations. Edit and upscale your photos right from the dashboard. Photos are professional quality and appear candid in nature often, and appear completely indistinguishable as AI. Zero learning curve and above-and-beyond customer service. This is our top choice if you just want to find a great set of photos to build your profile from.

Pros:

  • Specifically designed for dating profile pictures.
  • Almost perfect resemblance (photos are screened using facial recognition)
  • Massive quantity of pictures (200+) with tons of variety
  • Prompts are perfect for dating profile pictures - very candid, cool, and confident.
  • Perfect professional quality, without looking like AI.
  • Ability to edit and prepare the photos right from the dashboard.
  • Zero learning curve. Dead simple to use.
  • Amazing customer service (seriously, we tried)

Cons:

  • No cheap option to “try it,” you need to buy the $89 package up front.
  • Very opinionated - their photos look like they come from a professional camera, and there is no option to create “iPhone style” photos
  • It takes about 3-4 hours to get your photos, the slowest on this list.

The quality is pretty spectacular... Look at this:

🥈 Second Choice: PhotoAI ($99/month)

Not a bad choice if you are interested in learning more about AI photos long term. This is NOT a service-based platform, so you are basically signing up for the ability to learn how to make the photos yourself (without the need to run the models locally). It takes a lot of knowledge and creativity to create pictures that will pass on a dating profile, but if you are willing and wanting to learn how to make pictures yourself, this is the service for you. Keep in mind, nobody is going to do anything for you or help you if things go wrong. You are on your own!

Pros:

  • Tons of features, options, and settings to choose from
  • Huge flexibility in image style and quality (if you know what you’re doing)
  • Very high quality
  • Very high resemblance
  • Fast - get your first photos within hours.

Cons:

  • Extreme learning curve
  • The dating photo packs are just awful, with almost no quality control. The prompts appear AI generated, and you are better off just creating your own photos, which requires a lot of creativity.
  • Virtually no customer service
  • It’s billed monthly, which is annoying - we don’t need photos every month.
  • Similar to DatingShoot, there is no option to “try it first” for a cheaper price. You need to fork over the full $99 up front.

The quality of the photos and resemblance is high, but the photos you get out of the box are just not good. See for yourself:

🥉 Third Choice: YourMove.ai ($29+)

The worst choice of the bunch, and not recommended unless you are extremely apprehensive about using AI, and also very short on cash. The reason the price says $29+ is because the base package (which costs $29) only includes twenty photos, and among those twenty photos, it is really only 5 unique situations. There is almost no variety to pick from, and you’re unlikely to find more than 1 usable photo. The service is quick to use and there is zero learning curve, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Pros:

  • Cheap to “try it first” ($29)
  • Decent resemblance
  • Zero learning curve
  • Extremely quick (15 minutes to generate photos)

Cons:

  • The “try it first” option for $29 only gives you 20 photos. That is a terrible price per photo. The other options on this list give you hundreds of photos.
  • Extremely poor variety in prompts (they generate 4 photos per prompt, which means your 20 photos is really just 5 photos generated 4 times each).
  • Little-to-no options for modifying photos after generation.
  • The worst photo quality of any service on the list, with a strange “grainy” effect to the photos.
  • The prompts used appear to be poorly thought out. One photo generated even included the man holding a gun while sitting on a bench (who would use that on a dating app?)
  • Constant annoying upsells. They generate extra photos for you, but hide them behind paywalls. The $29 package they advertise is just to get you in the door. They are really expecting you to spend much more.

The cheapest service also produces the worst photos of the bunch, by far. Extremely disappointing, considering almost all of the photos look obviously fake. See for yourself:

Methodology:

We conducted this review using the same set of training photos in every instance. The number of photos used to train the model was guided by each service's guidelines. DatingShoot only asks for 6 photos, which is the most convenient of the bunch. PhotoAI asks for the most, claiming 15-30 photos gets the best results. YourMoveAI asks for ~10 photos. We found it is difficult to find a large number of recent photos of yourself to train the model, so if you have a similar concern, that may be yet another reason to choose DatingShoot.

In summary:

If you are looking for quality, ease-of-use, and pictures specifically made for dating profiles, then DatingShoot is the best option. If you aren’t afraid of a learning curve and want even more control over exactly how your pictures look, invest the time into learning PhotoAI. If you just want a quick example of how AI photos work and you aren’t afraid to spend more money later on to get photos you can really use, consider trying YourMoveAI.
